COVID-19 Update March 12th
March 12, 2020

Dear Friends,

I know many of you are very concerned about the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak but I would like to assure you that the Public Health Agency of Canada has assessed that the public health risk associated with the virus as low for the general population in Canada but I acknowledge that this could change rapidly.

COVID-19 is a rapidly evolving global challenge and our government is working closely with local, provincial, territorial, and international partners to minimize its health, economic, and social impacts in Canada and around the world. As a government we have a responsibility to make sure Canada is ready for all scenarios and we take that responsibility extremely seriously.

In order to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19, everyone has a role to play. It takes more than governments and action from the health sector to protect the health and safety of Canadians. Each of us can help our country be prepared in the event of an emergency by understanding how COVID-19 spreadshow to prevent illness, and community based measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

I ask that should you be looking to visit my constituency office for assistance, please call (905) 639-5757 or email at [email protected] if you are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms. This will ensure that we are protecting our more vulnerable and elderly constituents who visit the office.
To help limit the spread of COVID-19, you are encouraged to:
