Karina Gould
Hon. Karina Gould
Member of Parliament for Burlington
November Update
December 1, 2019

Dear Friends,

Thank you for putting your trust in me and having me return as your Member of Parliament for Burlington! I am humbled and excited to be able to keep serving our amazing community in Ottawa. I have heard from you and the people of Burlington that they want an MP who will continue to raise the issues they care about and work hard for them. I give you my word, I will continue to do just that.

On November 19th, I had the privilege of being officially re-sworn in as your Member of Parliament in the company of family and friends. This ceremony took place in the West Block of Parliament Hill, the new home to the House of Commons while the Centre Block undergoes a decade long renovation. As we begin a new mandate, we enter a different political landscape, but my steadfast dedication to advocating for Burlington remains the same.

I am also happy to announce that once again, the Prime Minister has entrusted me to serve in Cabinet. On November 20th, I, along with my family, went to Rideau Hall and was sworn in as the Minister of International Development by Governor General, her Excellency, the Right Honourable Julie Payette. I am excited and humbled to begin on this next chapter and look forward to representing Canada on the global stage.

On December 5th, the House of Commons will return for the 43rd Parliament. On this date, the Speaker of the House of Commons will be elected followed by the Speech from the Throne, highlighting our Government's priorities for this mandate. As a reminder, for those wishing to attend a Question Period, or visit Parliament Hill, please contact my office and my team would be happy to assist you.

Once again, thank you Burlington for believing in me and our positive vision for Canada. I am much looking forward to once again representing our community in Ottawa as your Member of Parliament.

Sincerely,

Karina
