About Employment Insurance (EI)

Employment Insurance is administered by Service Canada and generally offers temporary benefits to Canadians who are either unable to work due to their health, lost their job through no fault of their own, or are unable to work while they act as a caregiver for someone who is critically ill.

There are several different types of EI benefits which each have their own eligibility and reporting requirements. You can learn more about eligibility and how to apply for EI benefit programs here.

How can our office assist you with EI matters?

Our office can assist you by contacting Service Canada on your behalf to request a status update or more information regarding your EI benefits. If you have suddenly stopped receiving EI benefits or would like to receive more information from Service Canada regarding your pending EI, our office would be happy to submit an inquiry to Service Canada on your behalf.

Please note that our office works at arm’s length from Service Canada and therefore, we are not able to intervene in Service Canada’s decisions and processes.

If you would like our office’s assistance with an EI matter, please email us your request at [email protected], and include the specific program you would like assistance with, along with your postal code.
